How to use this plan
- Weekdays cover everything. Each day has one topic block: review the listed points (60–90 minutes in your review book of choice), then rehearse the listed cases out loud, then do 2–3 cases for that topic in the Practice tab.
- Weekends are optional: a mock oral from the week's topics on Saturday, catch-up or rest on Sunday.
- November 13–19 is review week. No new material after November 12. Each day re-covers one group of systems with rapid-recall points, then a timed block of mixed cases from those topics and redos of anything you rated Borderline or Fail. The day before the exam is light.
- Mock exams and weak-topic days (November 6–12) use your case ratings: rate every case honestly, and “Your weakest topics” in the Practice tab will focus on what you rated Borderline or Fail.
- Answer the way examiners want: stabilise first, a focused history and exam, the few tests that change management, a clear decision, the operation with its key steps, and what you do when it goes wrong. Commit; don't list.
- Expect curveballs. Examiners take away resources, add complications, or push back on correct answers. Leave the Practice tab's Curveballs setting on, and on mock days set it to Often.
- Confirm your own session times and format in your ABS exam materials.
Pearls
How did you do on this case overall?
Pick a topic (or leave it on today's plan) and press New scenario. The examiner gives you a case in stages; type or dictate your answer to each stage and get feedback before the next twist.
Curveballs are real-world wrenches examiners throw in mid-case: no blood in the bank, IR unavailable, a crashing patient, an angry family, a surprise finding, or a flat "Are you sure?" after a correct answer. They test whether you adapt safely and hold a correct plan under pressure.
Your case history
For exam preparation only, not clinical guidance. Model answers reflect common board-accepted practice; check anything you disagree with against current guidelines. Your answers and history stay in this browser; when the AI examiner is on, your typed answer is sent to it for grading and is not stored.
